Social Responsibility

Aston Bay believes in engaging with local communities, Indigenous groups and government agencies and building respectful relationship through dialogue and collaborative processes to ensure responsible exploration is conducted everywhere we work.

Depending on the stage of exploration, this may include and not be limited to implement hiring practices that encourage the use of local contractors and local workers, training, community benefits and agreements.


Environment

Aston Bay takes its responsibility to act as a steward of the environment seriously and continues to meet and exceed its environmental performance and practices. Aston Bay is committed to:

  • All employees are responsible for incorporating into their work the actions necessary to take all reasonable care for the protection of the environment.
  • Conducting responsible exploration through safe, socially, and environmentally responsible and sustainable work practices and continue to meet and/or exceed industry standards and government codes and regulations everywhere we work.
  • Seeking to minimize the impact of our exploration on the environment and biodiversity.
  • Continually monitoring the Company’s impact to the environment and, through continuous improvement, strive to attain higher levels of environmental performance.
  • Minimize all hazardous and non‐hazardous materials generation and properly dispose of all wastes.
  • Applying reasonable best practices and technologies that minimize impacts and enhance environmental quality with respect to water, air, vegetation and wildlife.
  • Require contractors and suppliers to operate according to Company’s environmental standards and procedures.

Health and Safety

Aston Bay embeds core values of health and safety throughout its operations. In doing so, Aston Bay commits to the following:

  • Providing a healthy and safe work environment by following strict health and safety standards and practices, and by meeting and/or exceeding industry standards and government codes and regulations everywhere we work.
  • Practicing continuous improvement through the application of best practices, new technology and innovation in all facets of our exploration.
  • Investigating the causes of accidents and developing effective preventative action.
  • Requiring contractors and vendors comply with all Health and Safety standards of Aston Bay.

Aston Bay is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and American Exploration & Mining Association (AEMA). As a member, Aston Bay strives to maintain and exceed social, environmental and health and safety principles that each association promotes.
